Favorite Bahá'í Books

  • Bahá'í' Faith, An Introduction - Faizi, Good general introduction. But needs to be updated.
  • Bahá'u'lláh and the New Era - Esslemont, Good general introduction with more details. Also showing it's age.
  • Selections from the Writings of the Báb - Wonderful and the only book of the Báb translated that I am aware of.
  • Gleanings from the Writings of Bahá'u'lláh - Classic collection translated and compiled by Shoghi Effendi.
  • Prayers and Meditations of Bahá'u'lláh - Another classic collection translated and compiled by Shoghi Effendi.
  • The Summons of the Lord of Hosts - Bahá'u'lláh's recently published letters to the rulers of the world.
  • The Kitáb-i-Aqdas - Bahá'u'lláh, Titled by Bahá'u'lláh "The Most Holy Book", this is a book of his laws and some powerful passages.
  • Tablets of Bahá'u'lláh - Great collection.
  • The Hidden Words of Bahá'u'lláh - Translated by Shoghi Effendi. Perfect for daily reading.
  • The Kitáb-i-Iqan - Bahá'u'lláh, An amazing work done in a very short period of time.
  • `Abdu'l-Bahá in London - Great compilation of talks and stories of the Master in London. (Not Authoritative text. But well done.)
  • Foundations of World Unity - `Abdu'l-Bahá, excellent.
  • Memorials of the Faithful - `Abdu'l-Bahá, insightful and moving accounts of early Bahá'ís.
  • Paris Talks - `Abdu'l-Bahá, pilgrims notes of `Abdu'l-Bahá in Paris. (Not Authoritative text. But well done.)
  • Selections from Writings of `Abdu'l-Bahá - Excellent.
  • Some Answered Questions - `Abdu'l-Bahás' answers to a believers detailed questions. Fantastic.
  • Tablets of the Divine Plan - `Abdu'l-Bahá, classic.
  • The Promulgation of Universal Peace - `Abdu'l-Bahá, wonderful talks.
  • The Will and Testament of `Abdu'l-Bahá - Very significant and worth studying.
  • Vignettes from the Life of `Abdu'l-Bahá - Pilgrims notes of the His Life. (Not Authoritative text. But well done.)
  • Bahá'í' Administration - Shoghi Effendi, excellent.
  • God Passes By - Shoghi Effendi, history of the Bahá'í Faith through the eyes of the brilliant mind of the Guardian. |
  • Messages to America 1932-1947 - Shoghi Effendi, early letters. Classic.
  • Messages tothe Bahá'í' World 1950-1957 - Shoghi Effendi, early letters. Must read.
  • The Advent of Divine Justice - Shoghi Effendi, worth studying.
  • The World Order of Bahá'u'lláh - Shoghi Effendi, timely (even today) in describing the worlds problems, and how to solve them.
  • Unfolding Destiny - Shoghi Effendi, Messages to the British Isles, great reading to see the early days of the Faith.
  • The Dawnbreakers - Nabil and Shoghi Effendi, must read early history of the Faith.
  • Door of Hope - Ruhe, interesting tidbits about the city of Akka and the Faith.
  • God Loves Laughter - Sears, funny personal account of great man.
  • Tahirih - Must read account of the life of a brilliant Bahá'i woman.
  • The Báb - Balyuzi, great factual account of His life by an accomplished scholar.
  • The Guardian of the Bahá'í' Faith - Rabanni (Ruhiyyih Khanum, his wife), excellent book about Shoghi Effendi.
  • The Priceless Pearl - Khanum, Wife of Shoghi Effendi, gives a timeless glimpse of the Guardian to which we are all indebted.
  • Commentary to The Will and Testament of `Abdu'l-Bahá - Hoffman, significant and insightful.
  • Letters and Essays:Mirza Abu'l Fadl - Great stories of a brilliant scholar.
  • Miracles and Metaphors - More great stories from an amazing man.
  • The Revelation of Bahá'u'lláh, vol. 1 - Taherzadeh gives us an extraordinary glimpse of Bahá'u'lláh in this four book series. Defiinitely a must read.
  • The Revelation of Bahá'u'lláh, vol. 2 - Taherzadeh
  • The Revelation of Bahá'u'lláh, vol. 3 - Taherzadeh
  • The Revelation of Bahá'u'lláh, vol. 4 - Taherzadeh
  • `Abdu'l-Bahá - Balyuzi, another great history.
  • Bahá'u'lláh, The King of Glory - Balyuzi, excellent account of His life.
  • Bahiyyih Khanum,The Greatest Holy Leaf - Excellent.
  • Shoghi Effendi - Giachery, He worked with the Guardian, and gives a moving account of his recollections.
  • Tahirih the Pure - Very good.
  • Century of Light - Prepared under the supervision of the Universal House of Justice, it is a brilliant assessment of the Bahá'í Faith to date, and how it is influencing the world.
